Benjamin Disraeli said, "The secret of success is constancy to purpose." Disraeli spoke as if he knew Carolee Parker. Carolee's purpose, since her earliest days, has been to assist people to enhance the quality of their lives. Parker, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Education, first did this through traditional teaching in the Tredffryin-Easttown School district. She then moved on, helping to found a non-traditional school, Upattina's in Glenmoore.
During her ten-year tenure at Upattina's, Carolee became interested in educating the body and spirit as well as the mind. Parker studied Reiki, became a certified Yoga teacher and a nationally certified shiatsu instructor. In 1983 she founded Meridian Shiatsu Institute and began teaching at what is now the oldest Five Element Shiatsu school in the United States. Under her guidance, the school became nationally certified by the American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association (AOBTA), and was nationally known for the excellence of their graduate therapists.
Carolee was able to fulfill another dream when, in 1994, she began training as an acupuncturist and graduated from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (Columbia, MD) with a Master of Acupuncture degree and received her national certification as an NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) diplomate. Besides acupuncture, her specialities include Qigong therapy and Yoga. Carolee is a certified instructor in the Universal Healing Tao system of Qigong therapy, has studied in China with leading teachers, and has practiced Asian bodywork for more than twenty five years. She is also a Kripalu Yoga certified instructor. Carolee brings the focus and clarity of her lifelong practice to her clients, students and audiences through treatment, teaching and demonstrations of the Asian healing arts.
Carolee has been active in the healing arts community, and has been practicing holistic therapies, for more than twenty-five years.
In addition to her healing practice, Carolee teaches the theories of Classical Chinese medicine, Qigong therapy, Yoga, and meditation, and is available for private or group instruction. Parker has a private practice in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and inquiries about treatment, classes or presentations to groups should be directed to her at (610) 651-2853, or at info@caroleeparker.com.
